As an aspiring journalist/photojournalist/spanish speaker I am living and studying in Sevilla, Spain for fall semester. I will be taking classes at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide just outside of the city but, who studies abroad to study? I plan to travel all over my newly-found country and Europe, eat traditional spanish food, make Spanish friends and soak up their beautiful language  (and sun) as much as possible. Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia, is located in Southern Spain and holds the record for being the hottest city in all of Europe with an all-time high of 52 degrees celsius, for all of you who are like me and do not know how to do the conversion, that is 122 degrees fahrenheit! (And I’ll admit to cheating, I used a converter.) So, while I will persistently tell myself I am getting tan while living in this crazy-hot city, I know my wonderful Irish heritage will allow me to develop into a “tomate americana” as I’ve already been called by a local, but if you dare take his side I will fight you because I will be in intense denial. Now off to siesta! (And, yes they really do that here!)

Hope you enjoy!
